Lady Falcons are CTC Charter Oak Division Champions

Hartford, CT – The Prince Tech Girls’ Volleyball team has won the 2019 Charter Oak Division of the Connecticut Technical Conference (CTC). With their win over Grasso Tech on October 23rd, the team improved to 9-1 in conference play to earn the title. The Lady Falcons have qualified for the conference tournament which starts the week of November 4th and the CIAC State Tournament which starts the following week.
The Lady Falcons are currently ranked second overall in the CTC, just behind Wilcox Tech. While there are still conference games to be played, Prince has completed their conference games and will play host for the first round of the CTC tournament on Monday, November 4th. The CIAC State Tournament starts on Monday, November 11 and the second round is Wednesday, November 13. Prince Tech is ranked second in Class M with a 16-1 overall record, behind Seymour who is currently undefeated at 16-0.
The nine wins in conference play include victories over fellow conference tournament qualifiers Norwich Tech, Cheney Tech, and Goodwin Tech. Prince opened the conference season with a come from behind victory over Goodwin Tech by a score of 3-2. That was the beginning of an 8 game winning streak in conference play, which included victories over Norwich Tech, Cheney Tech, and a second win over Goodwin Tech. Prince Tech lost their only conference game on a road trip to Cheney before finishing the season with a victory at Grasso Tech.
The volleyball team finishes out its regular season schedule with three additional games, 2 at home and 1 on the road. The Lady Falcons face University on Friday, October 25th for Senior Night. Prince Tech will recognize our five seniors for the contributions to the Lady Falcon Volleyball Program. The seniors are Ashly Avila-Soler (captain), Jalisa Rivera (manager), Amparo Rodriguez, Alondra Santos, and Yamielys Solis.
Prince plays their final regular season home game against Civic Leadership on Monday, October 28th and then travels to Bloomfield to face MLC on Wednesday, October 30th.
After the conclusion of the regular season, the Lady Falcons will host a quarterfinal game in the CTC Conference Tournament November 4th. The CIAC Class M State Tournament begins on November 11. For the current schedule of all remaining games, click here. Come support the Lady Falcons!
