SUBJECT: Standing Medical Orders and Nursing Guidelines for the Health Office

This Administrative Letter Supersedes Administrative Letter CT-43 (Series 2006-2007)

This Administrative Letter is to inform you of the changes to the Standing Medical Orders and Nursing Guidelines for the Health Office.  Effective July 1, 2018, Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) will no longer be part of the Standing Medical Orders.  Any parent/guardian who wishes their student to receive the medication, must provide the school nurse with an individualized medication order from their Primary Care Provider.  The nurse’s office will continue to stock both medications.
